Hey y´all!
I hope your return home was safe and good. My lines are basically for a few reasons, first of all, to thank all of you for making our time together an unforgettable journey, thanks for every person that helped with the bottles of water, the containers, the trash, the set up of things, you all made my job a lot easier (´cause I had 10 long minutes that I had to do on caliche or passing buckets ), but better than that, you all made my work special by teaching me small details, like smiling when the mud seem to become slipier and muddier, by telling me how cool is to make snow mans in the winter, by putting your hands and minds on the strike day to serve and learn, to listen and make insights about ur own culture, by telling Lucy how good her meals were, by squeezing into the bus and let the other´s warmth (not to say smell :P) stick into ur skin and remind you, yes, we are all humans at the end.
Thanks for your friendships and attentions, thanks for coming down to this beautiful island with so many needs to help build the shelter of a family, the most cherished patrimony of every dominican.
The San Francisco Community, is now a baby, that needs care, attention and patient, but that with all of our efforts will grow stronger, will be a place where kids can run, play and study without the fear of their roof flying away in a hurricaine or a storm, more than many houses together, more than the sum of concrete, rebars and sand, will be a community. Thanks for being part of that project!
Thanks for asking questions and adapting, instead of complaining, thanks for every time you listen to understand what you were eating, thanks for all the free slices of pizzas I got (yes!!!!), thanks again.
